July Campaign PSA

Mark Razum, Head Groundskeeper for the Colorado Rockies, lent his voice to Water '22 in July

For our July campaign PSA, Head Groundskeeper for the Colorado Rockies, Mark Razum, spoke out about preserving the state's most valuable nature resource and the Rockies' effort to go net-zero for water use at Coors Field by restoring water to the Colorado River. He points to water22.org for simple ways to take action to protect the state's water for future baseball fans. Check it out, and stay tuned for the August PSA to be released August 22!

#14 of 22 Ways to Care: Use Your Voice

Comment. Commit. Share. on Colorado's Water Plan

Yes, that's right, Colorado has a water plan! The 2015 Colorado Water Plan has been updated and the draft is now available for ALL Coloradans to review between June 30-Sept. 30. The Colorado Water Conservation Board is hosting listening sessions and invites you to "comment, commit and share," including by committing to the 22 Ways to Care for Colorado Water in 2022. Take a look at the plan now and use your voice to influence the state's water future.

Talk to your HOA and community officials about smart outdoor watering

This is a crucial time of year to practice outdoor water conservation. Not a homeowner? Talk to your property manager or HOA about smart outdoor watering practices. And anyone can encourage local officials and utilities to improve water conservation in their town or city. Keep it simple by sharing this tip sheet from Colorado State University Extension and forwarding the 22 Ways to Care.

Water '22 August Social Media Contest - Show Us Your Water Bottle, We'll Show You Ours!

Thank you to everyone who entered the July contest - Why I love Water! Congratulations to our June and July Winners: Ashlee from @that_untraveled_world and Lacey Kenner! Ashlee is headed to WaterWorld with four free tickets and Lacey is receiving a Resource Central Garden in a Box fall planting filled with native plants.

With Back to School around the corner, we would love to see you with your reusable water bottle - helping keep plastic out of our waterways and staying hydrated with Colorado's most valuable resource. To enter, simply post a pic of you, your kids and/or friends or family with your water bottle and the caption "I support Water '22 by filling a reusable water bottle." Don't forget to use the hashtag #water22 and tag Water Education Colorado.

Two lucky winners will receive a Water Education Colorado Klean Kanteen water bottle as pictured above.

Free Public Water '22 Tours Across State

Water Education Colorado offering free day-long tours of state's river basins for members of public

The Water '22 mini-tours aim to highlight the work of the state's Basin Roundtables and their plans for regional water projects and programs that combat drought and climate change, address population pressures, protect agriculture, water quality, environmental and recreational values, and more. These regional plans feed the Colorado Water Plan, which is available for public comment through Sept. 30. Express your interest in attending a tour at the link below.

Upcoming Tours:

Aug. 12: Upper Colorado River Basin

Aug. 26: Upper Arkansas River Basin

Sep. 1: Southwest Basin

Sep. 13: Rio Grande Basin

Sept. 15: Yampa River Basin

Most tours are limited to 12 participants each. Please note that you will be responsible for getting to the tour meeting location and any mileage, travel, and hotel costs are your responsibility to cover
