Please join Water Education Colorado (WEco), water festival coordinators, and the Water Educator Network for a two-hour virtual professional development and collaboration workshop on November 29, 2021 from 12:30pm-2:30m.

This professional development opportunity will include an overview of the past year of SWEAP Implementation. This topic is a follow-up to last year’s conversation with a focus on the finalized SWEAP Toolkit. We will discuss next steps that may support strategic planning of Water Festivals in 2022 and beyond. As coordinators look ahead to plans for the 2022 Water Festivals, we will also provide a brief description of the current statewide plans and goals of the Water ‘22 Campaign. We will engage coordinators in a discussion of how Water '22 may be an opportunity to celebrate and elevate water festivals and other programming, and as an opportunity for students to take action in their communities.

We will have a structured discussion of coordinators' plans for 2022 water festivals.  Many water festival coordinators will be exploring the feasibility of a large in-person gathering such as a water festival given COVID-19 impacts and school district adaptations to the pandemic. You will hear from Ellen Olson about the models used at Denver Water for making the go/no-go decision for large events in these uncertain times. We will discuss how you might use these in charting out your 2022 festival.

We hope to see you (virtually) on the 29th!
