Denver Metro Project WET Educator Workshop

Have fun with fellow educators and get trained on the Project WET curriculum!

Join us on June 14 at 9:00 am at the newly opened CSU Spur Hydro building for a Project WET (Water Education Today) Educator Workshop! During the workshop, participants will be introduced to numerous water-related activities applicable to kids of all ages. Designed to challenge students and introduce new science, social studies, English, and math concepts, Project WET is the perfect curriculum and activity guide for any educator. The perfect curriculum for K-12 teachers, non-formal educators, church leaders, and anyone who works with kids!

Leave able to implement a collection of hands-on, engaging and interdisciplinary K-12 lessons and water-related activities in your own learning environment. Participants will have a chance to practice teaching water-related activities through activity demonstrations and peer learning with fellow educators. Upon completing this workshop, you will be certified as a Project WET Educator and equipped to use the Project WET Activity Guide 2.0 to teach young water stewards about critical water concepts. View the agenda.

0.5 hours of continuing education credit through the Colorado School of Mines will be awarded upon completion of the course for those who request credit. Tuition is an additional $50 and payment will be collected at the Workshop.

Workshop Fee

We understand cost can be a barrier to professional development opportunities, so we strive to incorporate sliding-scale or “pay what you can” pricing to reduce the barrier. The full-price option is reflective of the true cost of the workshop, including lunch and refreshments. Select the option that works best for your budget. Please register for the workshop by Tuesday June 13.

WEco Member: $50
WEco Member (Sliding Scale): $25
Non-member: $65
Non-member (Sliding Scale): $35

An additional $25 will be added if you elect to purchase Project WET Activity Guide 2.0 (required for certification). We have free Guides available for workshop participants that will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are concerned about the cost of attending the workshop, please email Cailyn Andrews (cailyn@wateredco.org) about our limited scholarship opportunities.

Two full scholarships are available for educators from Pitkin County. Thanks to Pitkin County Healthy Rivers.
