Briefly: California irrigators, environmenalists renew call to drain Lake Powell

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Imperial Irrigation District in Southern California is among a group of water users calling for Lake Powell to be drained to help the Colorado River system adapt to a warmer climate and reduced flows. The idea does not have support among states in the Upper Basin, which includes Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming.
