Water '22 April Newsletter

Thank you for signing up to receive Water ‘22 campaign updates and for partnering with us to raise awareness of Colorado's most precious resource. We are excited to be celebrating water with YOU in 2022!

We are now through the first quarter of the year and momentum is building as partners gear up for spring and summer events. In March we focused our media outreach on World Water Day, and April will showcase Student Water Awareness Week and Earth Day. 

Our monthly newsletter outlines upcoming campaign activities and provides tips and resources for engaging in the 22 Ways to Care for Colorado Water in 2022 during the first week of every month.

Coverage included the drought, wildfire, the first-ever shortage declaration on the Colorado River, Colorado's role as a headwaters state, and simple ways Water '22 can help people save water on World Water Day—and every day. "We can all do our part...think about the future and what kind of Colorado we are leaving our children.

Water '22 on air with Great Day Colorado

World Water Day, celebrated this year on March 22, was an opportunity to highlight challenges to global access to clean, safe water, as well as risks to water sustainability in Colorado. Water '22 was featured in a live segment on Great Day Colorado alongside the work of Water for People.

The news spot highlighted the Western Slope's persistent drought conditions, which have eased somewhat from last year, and included tips on drought preparation and opportunities for water providers to foster conservation, alongside Water '22's 22 Ways to Care.
