Briefly: Facebook data center water use scrutinized

According to New Mexico’s Albuquerque Journal, Facebook’s proposed plan to expand its data center in Los Lunas has stirred community concerns about water use and the possible impacts on local farms and businesses. Last week the Los Lunas Village Council unanimously approved the issuance and sale of industrial revenue bonds to help finance the data center expansion. The bonds total $40 billion for Facebook subsidiary Greater Kudu, LLC. The data center has access to up to 500 acre-feet of water annually.
