K-12 Water Educator Liaison

Water Education Colorado is seeking an individual with a commitment to service and passion for educating Coloradans, in particular teachers and youth, about the importance of the state’s water serve as an AmeriCorps eeCorps member with Water Education Colorado. Fresh Water News Intern

Fresh Water News is seeking a college intern for Summer 2022 

Fresh Water News, a nonpartisan digital news initiative of Water Education Colorado, seeks a creative, informed, enthusiastic and talented editorial intern currently attending a college journalism program in Colorado. The intern will work closely with an award-winning editorial team, helping report on and investigate important water issues in Colorado. Water Education Colorado is a Denver-based nonprofit dedicated to delivering quality information and news, education and leadership programs focused on water across the state.

Join us for Summer Semester 2022 and gain invaluable experience reporting on one of the most important topics in the American West. This position comes with a one-time $500 stipend.

Fresh Water News is recruiting for this internship statewide, and can offer a remote work arrangement with specified on-site work periods as well for those students attending college outside the Denver Metro area.


  • Generate story ideas
  • Help gather data for news reporting projects
  • Distribute FWN’s weekly news report via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter 

Required Skills: 

  • Demonstrated interest in natural resources, preferably water
  • Some reporting experience preferred
  • Excellent written/verbal communication
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Passion for journalism
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • June – August 2022    |   5-10 hours per week
