Briefly: Arizona ending Saudi groundwater farm leases

Channel 12 News reports that Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs announced this week that the state has terminated one of the leases associated with Saudi-owned Fondomonte Arizona LLC and will not renew the company’s other leases, which are set to expire in February of 2024. The company is a major grower of alfalfa, which is shipped from Arizona to the Middle East to feed livestock there.
