Briefly: Aurora close to finalizing $80M water deal in Arkansas Basin

The Sentinel reports that Aurora is close to finalizing a far-reaching $80 million agricultural water deal in the Arkansas Basin that will provide the fast-growing city with new water supplies in times of drought, while preserving agricultural lands. City officials say it is not a so-called buy-and-dry arrangement, where agricultural water is permanently removed from the land, a process for which the city has been criticized in the past.
