Briefly: California snowpacks melting earlier, reducing water supplies

The Los Angeles Times reports that as California dries out, its mountain snow is melting earlier, a phenomenon that is being seen to varying degrees in other states. In California, those snows account for roughly 30% of the state’s water supplies.
