Briefly: Lake Powell rising a foot a day

The Washington Post reports that the deep mountain snowpacks that feed the Colorado River are melting and delivering astonishing amounts of water to Lake Powell, providing opportunities to help restore the river below Glen Canyon Dam and elsewhere. Despite the liquid bounty, long-term relief isn’t likely to boost the giant reservoir’s storage level enough to provide meaningful recovery from the megadrought.
