Briefly: Nevada bans “non-functional” grass

According to AP News, a new Nevada law will outlaw roughly 31% of the grass in the Las Vegas area. The law is attempting to aid in the conservation of water from the Colorado River. The legislation was signed by Gov. Steve Sisolak and is the first in the nation to enact a permanent ban on specific varieties of grass. The new measures are targeting “non-functional turf” that exists around office parks, street medians, and housing developments.
