Briefly: Nevada seeks new federal land swaps as water concerns rise

The Associated Press reports that a Nevada senator is seeking to further protect more public land in exchange for allowing developers and businesses to build on 48 square miles of what was public land. If approved, this land transfer would help accommodate the state’s rapidly growing need for new housing.  Whether the proposal will include enough money for badly needed new water infrastructure to help support that growth isn’t clear yet.
