Briefly: New Mexico pledges $500M to mine brackish water

New Mexico’s KRQE reports that New Mexico’s governor will guarantee the state will buy $500 million in new water supplies retrieved from underground aquifers and treated to remove salt and other pollutants. The idea is to provide an incentive to private companies to invest in the work and technology needed to harvest the water.
