Briefly: Cali to outlaw watering decorative grass with potable water

The Los Angeles Times reports that California legislators passed a bill this week that will outlaw using drinking water to irrigate nonfunctional turf grass. The bill, which will outlaw the use of potable water for decorative grass at commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional properties, was passed Monday and is now awaiting Gov. Gavin Newsom’s signature.
