Briefly: Colorado Water Trust inks 10-year deal adding water to the Yampa River

The Steamboat Pilot reports that the Colorado Water Trust recently secured a 10-year contract to release water from Stagecoach Reservoir into the Yampa River. Legislation passed in 2020 allows for long-term agreements. In previous years, deals needed to be negotiated annually. This recent agreement ensures 100 acre-feet of water is available from Stagecoach’s general supply pool each year.
