Briefly: Denver Water sues Boulder County as Gross Reservoir expansion drags on

The Denver Post reports that Denver Water sued Boulder County in federal court last Wednesday. Denver Water claims that Boulder County Commissioners are taking too long to consider the utility’s 1041 permit request to expand Gross Reservoir. The proposed expansion would increase the reservoir’s capacity from 42,000 acre-feet to 120,000 acre-feet. Denver Water claims that the expansion is needed to safeguard Denver’s water supply.
