Briefly: Water users reckon with over-allocation of drought-stricken Colorado River

CBS News’ 60 Minutes reported from the field to follow up on California’s recent statewide drought emergency declaration, which came after the federal government’s shortage declaration on the Colorado River. Seven states and 30 Native American tribes rely on the Colorado River Basin. The 22-year drought is forcing those dependent on the Colorado River to make hard decisions on how to approach over-allocation of the river’s diminishing water supplies.
