In Brief: Montana court overturns case seeking to stop bottled water plant

The Montana Supreme Court has overturned a case seeking to stop a bottled water plant that sought to use millions of gallons of groundwater.

The lengthy legal battle involves Montana Artesian Water Company and its access to Flathead aquifer. The company plans to pump enough water to fill more than 1 billion bottles of water per year. Local residents, conservation groups, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and Flathead County now await reconsideration of the dispute from the lower court.
