Briefly: West Slope eyes Front Range use as factor in conservation payments

Aspen Journalism reports that the Colorado River District, which represents 15 counties on Colorado’s West Slope, is eyeing criteria for a voluntary, paid water conservation pilot that would require Front Range water users to cut back use as well, rather than relying on large West Slope agriculture operations to deliver all the water savings.
