In Brief: Colorado ultra dry as snow season arrives

According to reporting from CBS4, experts say Colorado will need an epic snow year to recover from historic drought conditions. Russ Schumacher, Colorado State Climatologist and Director of the Colorado Climate Center at Colorado State University, said, “From a water resources perspective and drought perspective, we’re definitely not in good shape going into this winter because the summer was so warm and dry.” Forecasted colder temperatures may mean snowfall will stick around over the next few days, but Schumacher expects the upcoming winter will hold bouts of warm weather.
