Briefly: More legal wrangling over Denver’s Gross Reservoir expansion

The Colorado Sun reports that environmental groups have filed an appeal regarding the dismissal of their case in federal district court concerning Denver Water’s Gross Dam expansion. The case was dismissed on March 31, 2021, ruling that all challenges to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission permits must go straight to the federal Circuit Court of Appeals without a lower court ruling. The environmental groups argue that federal review agencies neglected species-protection laws and other guidelines when handling the permit.
