The Colorado rafting companies were aiming to block a new rule that raised minimum wage to $15 an hour for federal contractors, which would apply to rafting guides running trips on federal land. The rule also requires a more significant wage increase for hours worked past 40 hours in a week, affecting guides working overnight trips. The companies allege that President Biden overstepped his authority by not running the wage hike through Congress. The Colorado River Outfitters Association is concerned about the resulting increase in rafting trip costs and whether customers will be willing to pay. However, U.S. District Judge Philip Brimmer dismissed the lawsuit.
