Briefly: Colorado sports betting revenue reaches $2.3B, benefits to water coming next year

According to The Denver Post, the Colorado Department of Revenue has reported that Coloradans wagered more than $2.3 billion on sports between May 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021. The 10 percent tax on sports betting that was approved by voters in November 2019 has produced roughly $6.5 million to be allocated towards Colorado’s water conservation efforts. Distribution of water funds are not expected to start until 2022.
